I encourage you to celebrate your love for yourself, your friends and even someone who you don’t know but you want to cherish anyway. . As for me, I want to honour my daughter @itsinesalmeida - a wonderful human being who is my partner in all types of (good) crimes, a BIG help in my video learning process, and who creates the most amazing eye makeup looks in the 🌍 Oh, and she is also the author of today’s photo! . I also take this chance to honour the work of Lisa Bryan - @downshiftology - who is the author of this delicious flourless #Chocolatecake #recipe. . Lisa Bryan is a graduate of the IIN Health Coach Certification Program whose website I found while researching to make my own decision about enrolling ... Her #downshiftology #youtubechannel is VERY good, as is her website! We share a down-to-earth approach to healthy eating, focusing on food you can actually eat on a daily basis, that is nutritionally balanced and still totally satisfying.   • Cookbooks … perfect #teatime companions! . Sunday is the perfect time to get new inspiration, and I have new books to explore: How to Eat a Peach, by @dianahenryfood A Modern Cook’s Year, by Anna Jones | @we_are_food The New Art of Cooking, by @frankie_u , and Quick, Easy, Healthy by @sproutadl and @callums_kitchen (a gift from sweetest @matildaonvideo) . How about you, do you have new favorites? I’d love to know… . I’ve been actually ‘reading’ cookbooks since the wonderful @nigella published her first cookbook: How to Eat. This book made my TOP 3 cookbooks to read at bedtime… read the post on the Glow Chef blog, if you’re curious 🤓 . And yes, I’m still a fan, I think Nigella changed everything about food writing in our days! . Since then I’ve spent countless hours in my favorite bookstores in different cities exploring the amazing creativity that now graces this area of publishing. Oh, and don’t get me started on my @amazon account 🤪 . Both food writing AND food photography have come a long way. Thanks to the work of all these giant creatives, both my cooking and my photography have also improved quite a bit. #grateful🙏

  • 🍊Vitamin C … why and how 🍋 Have you been under the weather a bit? Think about boosting your immunity with an extra dose of vitamin C rich foods. You’ll be kicking that cold away and doing extra good to your body: vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant; boosts tissue regeneration including your skin; helps lower LDL (the bad cholesterol); and helps the body against heart disease. For those of you who are prone to anemia: vitamin C also helps with iron absorption. . It’s February… my nemesis in form of month. I know, it should be THE romantic one but in reality, for me, it’s just a really tough month every year. I’m not a fan of cold weather and by this time I’ve probably depleted my energy to fight it. It’s also the time I’m most prone to catching “something” - a sore throat, a cold, a flu … you know, something. . So, I’ve done a little research on vitamin C rich foods … this is the immunity boosting vitamin and tight now that’s the goal! Luckily, many fruits and vegetables are rich in this vitamin. . The ones you already know: oranges - actually, citrus fruits in general - kiwi, berries and apples. . The ones that might surprise you: broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, asparagus, red peppers, dark leafy greens (such as spinach and kale), tomatoes and potatoes. Nature is a beauty and most of these vegetables and fruits are in season during the Winter. . You can already find many EASY HEALTHY RECIPES with these ingredients on the Glow Chef website. . AND, I’ve been practicing my cauliflower skills beyond soup! .   • Salad for Breakfast or how healthy eating can be, in reality, so simple! . Since coming back from Marrakech I’ve been trying to reproduce the flavors I so enjoyed there in my everyday cooking… . One of my favorite dishes was a starter salad - like a tartare - that combined grapefruit, avocado and scallops. It was amazing in its simplicity. And it showed how good the combination of grapefruit and pepper was… . So yesterday I decided to have something similar for breakfast: grapefruit, avocado and - in place of scallops - coconut yogurt. Well, it’s also white! . It looks and it is straightforward. The thing is I seasoned it as a salad: olive oil and pepper, pink peppercorns because I’m currently obsessed with them. And a couple of walnuts crumbled over. . I didn’t even present it so well… I was hungry 😉 . It was nutritious and it was delicious! This combination actually fits the bill of a #lowcarb, #paleo, #ketodiet #healthybreakfast. . So, if you think you need hours and hours or piles of energy to start eating well, you don’t. It’s actually simple. As simple as this dish above. . I hope you believe me and start doing little simple changes in the way you’re cooking and eating. It’s not an “all or nothing” game.
