To help you change your eating habits, here are my suggestions for you to start taking charge of your diet. These tips are based on my day to day experience, when we are so busy we easily mix our priorities.
Try them for a week or two until it becomes second nature. You’ll feel more energetic throughout the day.
If necessary, use the reminders on your smartphone – or else, what is it smart for?
1st – Start The Day With A Cup Of Warm Water And Lemon Juice
Not only it helps you to alkalize your body but also soothes your digestive system and your gut. It’s a great first step to start your healthy day!
2nd – Welcome Protein To Your Breakfast
Choose one among the following: 1 plain yogurt (unsweetened), a boiled or scrambled egg or a tablespoon of raw almonds (unsalted). Add to your usual breakfast.
3rd – Choose A Lunch Whose Name Starts With A Protein
It may be meat, fish, eggs or a vegetarian protein, just keep in mind it needs to be the star of your lunch. Not worth falling for “Penne …”, “Spaghetti …” or even salads with way too much dressing.
4th – Have A Snack That Includes Nuts Or Seeds
Whether with a yogurt, a piece of fruit or even by themselves, add a tablespoon of these healthy fats to your morning and/or afternoon snacks.
5th – Water, Water, Water
Drink a glass of water every hour.
Take a minute to stand up, stretch your arms over your head and take two or three deep breaths.
Congratulations!
You have come to the end of the first day of the rest of your life – the day you decided to be free of bad habits and make positive choices about what you eat.
Recipe Of The Day
To help you drink more water, here are 3 suggestions of healthy aromas for 1 liter of water:
- two slices of lemon and two slices of peeled ginger.
- two slices of lime and two slices of cucumber.
- six frozen raspberries (which you can crush with a spoon) and a couple of mint leaves.
Now, just hit the “repeat” button …
